http://log.chocolaterobot.com/?p=67
Repost from Platform 4 During the recently held hacker-conference PLATFORM4.0.Future Meeting Hub #1 back in September, FAT LAB fellow Geraldine Juárez, tinkered a little mobile device – the FAT CRIER – to amplify information gathered from Twitter trough a megaphone so it can be brought it to the streets. The original FAT CRIER is a commissioned piece created for PLATFORM4 and will be installed on our warehouse for everyone to use. Now you can learn to build one!
Bring your laptop! Arduinos and soft circuits kits available for borrowing (All ages) Registration
Saturday Oct 22, 10:00 – 18:00

Speed Show 5: Open Internet
http://log.chocolaterobot.com/?p=239
The SPEED SHOW series is coming to Paris! It’ll be awesome! We will rock the place and on top we’ll kill the night with a F.A.T. lab after party at Le dune! Spread the news! Bring all your friends! Book your flight today! SPEED SHOW vol.5: ‘Open Internet’ Welat Internetcafe 12 Rue d’Enghien, Paris (G-map) 13th January 2011 7:00-11:00 PM FB on.fb.me/eu3Wg3
F.A.T. lab after party at Le dune cafe http://www.ledune.fr 18 avenue claude vellefaux, Paris Curated and produced by: Aram Bartholl, Marie Lechner & Anne Roquigny Participating artists: Anonymous, Jean-Baptiste Bayle, Christophe Bruno & Samuel Tronçon, Claude Closky, Marika Dermineur, Caroline Delieutraz, Constant Dullaart, JODI, Jérôme Joy, Tobias Leingruber, Aymeric Mansoux & Dave Griffiths & Marloes de Valk, Albertine Meunier, Geraldine Juarez feat. M.I.A., Evan Roth, Systaime, VideOdrome mailing list, La Quadrature du Net (Jérémie Zimmermann) Open Internet 2010 showed the full scale beauty of open Internet culture. Governments and industrial lobbies are trying more than ever to establish new regulations and tools to control the net. The Internet must stay open and neutral! Avoid being shut down by government and make sure your (online-) life or business is not dependant on a single large company or governmental restrictions. It is important to keep rethinking net structures to escape from the mainstream social vortex which is incapable of reflecting on itself. Internet art and net subcultures play an important role in questioning and deconstructing everyday web defaultism and global, digital industries. We are very pleased to present an exquisite selection of internationally-known artists at SPEED SHOW vol.5 ‘Open Internet’ – Paris. A wide range of brand new art works created especially for ‘Open Internet’ discuss the current impact of Internet pop culture, open source, minimal amateur and radical options of the Open Internet. A combination of excellent Paris-based, internationally-know artists and restless Open Internet advocates form the perfect base for a promising opening night at the awesome Welat cyber cafe Paris. 2009: Year of the F.A.T.
http://fffff.at/2009-year-of-the-f-a-t/
2009: Year of the FAT from james powderly on Vimeo. In February 2010, the most renowned curators and critics in the world nominated the best 100 designs of the previous year for the Design Museum London’s Design of the Year Show. Amongst the fancy chairs, fabric sports cars and dresses for chubbers, 3 projects by FAT fellows were nominated in the category of Interactive Art: openFrameworks, Graffiti Taxonomy, and the EyeWriter. 100 designs were honored… but only one can win… probably gonna be that dead fashion designer… So, like Babe Ruth, I’m calling my shot: The FAT Lab is gonna win the Interactive Art Category. Im so certain of it, that i am making a challenge to Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon. If the F.A.T Lab wins, I will wear a red toupee for 3 months. If Amazon’s Kindle 2 wins, Bezos will have to wear the rug for a mere 30 days. If neither of us wins, we both do. C’mon Bezos, you know my number… let’s do dis! Usman, Eno, Jason, you want a piece of this action? In the words of another notorious loser, “Bring it on!” If you’re in London (i feel sorry for you…), head down to the Museum to check out the show and tune-in to the Culture Show on BBC2 London on March 4th at 19:00 GMT for the results and may the best looking head win! And Tivo that shit, cuz I aint got a TV. Congrats to Zach, Theo, Chris, Evan, Mick, Tony and the rest of the FAT crew for a great year. LYLAS!

FAT Ring
FAT Ring is kind of like far-ting for r-tards. It is also offers an alternative web indexing system to compete with those offered by key players like Google and Yahoo. The key to the “FAT Ring Indexing System” is the patented “Ring of Trust” Approach, in which FAT Lab only indexes relevant websites that they trust and respect. The FAT Ring, therefore, most effectively provides a researcher with all of the most pertinent websites related to FAT Lab. FAT Ring!
